What You Can Do

Join us in safeguarding our democracy!

Do as much as you can. Some days, you’ll be able to do more, some less. Every action you take will make a real impact, and your efforts are vital for upholding accountability and ensuring that our elected leaders serve “we, the people,” instead of themselves.

Democratic votes in Montrose County since 2016

We have had successes, and we will have more. We went from Democrats at the top of the ballot, getting 26% of the vote in 2016, to 37% in 2022.  A constant drip of action can grow into a powerful river that will allow us to keep turning Montrose County a little bluer every year. That is our goal.

Democrats, progressive Independents, and everyone who wants to preserve our democracy can be inspired and motivated to take positive action.

Here’s how you can make a change:

  • Attend our events to meet other Democrats and discuss critical issues with like-minded people.
  • Invite your friends and neighbors to our events.
  • Attend our monthly meetings to learn how the MCDP operates.
  • Become a Precinct Organizer in your neighborhood.
  • Post a review on our Google page.
  • Stay informed of critical issues and legislation.
  • Call, email, write, and visit your elected officials.
  • Join our group on Facebook and share our posts on your timeline.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. (Barack Obama)

The Democratic Party is the oldest continuing party in the United States.

Today, we are millions of supporters strong, fighting for progress and helping elect Democrats across the country to state government, Congress, and the White House.

There are several core beliefs that tie our party together: Democrats believe that we’re greater together than we are on our own—that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. Our party is focused on building an economy that lifts up all Americans, not just those at the top.

That’s why Democrats are working to make progress on issues like job creation, equal pay, education, health care, and clean energy.
