Become a Precinct Organizer

Precinct Organizers (POs) are the ambassadors of the Democratic Party in their neighborhoods who organize events, register voters, encourage people to vote and represent our Party in every nook and cranny across the state.

A PO is elected at caucus for a two-year term, and each precinct has two PO slots.

POs get to vote on county Party business, elect its leadership, and also serve on vacancy committees to select new representatives when an elected official leaves office early.

Are you passionate about politics? Do you want to make a difference in your neighborhood? Becoming a Precinct Organizer (PO) for the Montrose County Democratic Party is your chance!

To become a PO, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be a registered Democrat (not unaffiliated)
  • Live in the precinct you represent
  • Request to be appointed by the Montrose County Democratic Party between elections.

If you meet these criteria and want to become a PO, contact team@mcdporganizers.org. The POs in Montrose County are led by two PO Coordinators, currently Pat Riddell and Carol Friedrich. They can explain the process and answer any questions you have.

As a PO, you will represent the Democratic Party at the precinct level, attend periodic meetings, and work with other POs and volunteers to educate voters about our issues and candidates. You will also play a crucial role in helping to “get out the vote” in your precinct.

Join the Montrose County Democratic Party today and make a difference in your community!
