July 4th Parade Float (photo)Your Montrose County Democratic Party is again raising the bar at the annual July 4th parade.

It’s that time of year when we can demonstrate to more than 5,000 people in our community that Democrats are making a difference. We are expanding our reach, and Montrose is changing for the better. This was evident when over 750 people attended Montrose Pride on June 8th at Cerise Park.

This year, our parade will feature two floats and a few fun vehicles. We will also have 1600 frozen Otter Pops to delight the children, so we need a significant number of walkers to assist in handing them out.  Also, Kathleen Curry (HD58) and Cole Buerger (SD5) will share a float for their campaigns.

The parade route has been slightly altered, so the walk will take about 30 minutes. The float lineup is in its usual spot — the large gravel parking lot in front of the Montrose County Event Center on the bypass. You can’t miss it.  We need everyone to arrive by 9:30 AM, and all attendees must sign a city safety waiver. You can download it here and bring it with you on Thursday: tinyurl.com/2gky5xwe.
