Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom is launching its 2024 ballot measure campaign to protect abortion from government interference at the Montrose County Democratic Party Headquarters on Saturday, January 27, at 3:00 PM. This event is part of a week-long series across Colorado. It’s also the week of the 51st anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Decision. The U.S. Supreme Court overturned that decision, so now we must ensure abortion rights state-by-state. Read the official text of Ballot Initiative 89.
Currently, there is a ban on health insurance coverage for abortion for thousands of Colorado state and local public employees and for those enrolled in state health insurance programs. That means hardworking Coloradans, like teachers and firefighters, can’t access the same essential healthcare as people with private insurance.
This measure is more than just a statement—it is a commitment to providing meaningful access to abortion services for those currently without it. Let’s work together to ensure that the right to abortion is more than just a name but a reality for all Coloradans.
