The West Slope People’s Forum:
Care Over Cuts
We all know that we are living through challenging times in our community and in our country. The Uncompahgre Valley Alliance (UVA), together with all of the Western Colorado Alliance (WCA), is offering us the opportunity to come together with others from Garfield, Mesa, Delta, Montrose and Ouray Counties to break that feeling of isolation and stand together for what we need in rural Colorado.
On April 11, 2026, WCA will hold a people’s forum with our candidates for the Colorado State House to share stories like the ones we are living and hearing about and ensure our next leaders hear the voices of rural Western Colorado.
Here are the candidates who have committed to appear at the West Slope People’s Forum on April 11:
Phil Weiser
Candidate for Governor
Michael Dougherty
Candidate for Attorney General
David Seligman
Candidate for Attorney General
Jessie Danielson
Candidate for Secretary of State
We have the opportunity to learn more about these efforts to hold our government officials accountable and ensure our communities get the investment we deserve. This is an opportunity to build the people power we need to care for our rural friends and neighbors. When we invest in the priorities of our rural communities, we build stronger, healthier communities and a better future for all. We Build a Bigger We.
Let state candidates know what matters to us on the West Slope!
Join us as we ask our candidates to honor the priorities and concerns of our community as they take office. Candidates in races for several state offices will be present to hear our stories and learn what we need to thrive.
This event is free to attend but we ask that you RSVP now to reserve your seat!
