Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, 2022... now, more than ever, YOUR VOTE MATTERS!

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, we received the heartbreaking news of the passing of Kevin Kuns, a dear friend to many and chair of the Montrose County Democratic Party. He fought courageously against cancer until the very end and had just celebrated his 70th birthday back in March.

For over five years, Kevin was more than just a leader; he was a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew him. He was a champion for all Democrats on the Western Slope, and his perseverance and strength created the Democratic Party we have today. It will be our challenge to continue building on what Kevin started.

A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Ute Indian Museum. We are holding two celebrations to accommodate everyone who wants to attend. The museum has limited space, so they are asking you to RSVP at tinyurl.com/2rba9v8k with your time preference.

All of Kevin’s friends and colleagues are invited to join us in sharing stories and memories of his extraordinary life. Please dress to honor his love of Jimmy Buffett.

Memorials can be sent to Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary (42528 Needle Rock Road, Crawford CO 81415), Montrose County Democrats (PO Box 2126, Montrose CO 81402-2126) or your favorite charity. Be sure to specify that your donation is in memory/honor of Kevin Kuns.

Condolences can be sent to his wife, Bobbie Kuns, at 443 Golden Drive, Montrose, CO 81401, and his mom, Pat Kuns, at 1254 Bighorn Street, Montrose, CO 81401.

Kevin was more than just a leader; he was a beacon of hope and inspiration for the Democratic Party and various organizations on the Western Slope. Let us honor his legacy by striving to create a world that reflects his ideals—one that values compassion, justice, and unity.

As Kevin would say… BOOM!
